Anderson Residence - the original structure with cement asbestos siding

Anderson Residence

The Anderson house was first occupied by Mrs Anderson’s grandparents and then she grew up in it. Upon receiving the structure, the family embarked on a program to alter it to suit their needs while preserving the elements of attachment, the existing detailing and general appearance. Their needs included changing the structure to obtain parking for two cars by replacing the existing partial basement which had a deteriorated brick foundation wall. Additionally, a third floor was necessary to obtain a view of the Sound and to accommodate their home office needs within the reproduced roof form a story higher.

The structure was raised to allow the construction of the new foundation walls.
