Nordland Beach House - exterior.

Nordland Beach House

The Beach House is the first of two residences on this dramatic 10 acre site at the “Hole in the Wall” where the Swinomish Slew meets the bay that leads to Discovery Pass near La Conner. This structure was for temporary housing for the owners while their retirement home was being constructed. Then it is to become their guest house. The location is on a small private cove at the bottom of a slope from the road. There is complete privacy except from the boats going to La Conner.

The house was placed to secure the slope from the garage/parking. A covered stair leads to the upper floor entry to the house. A lot of attention was given to the roof shapes for they are so prominent.
